A word of caution on these smaller size models, make sure you check what is included within the frame of the laptop. Although these models seem more portable, many of them require external storage or external DVD players.

Netbooks:

These have been referred to as “sub-notebooks” but are now generally called netbooks. They are very small with screens in the range of 7 to 10 inches and are targeted toward users that focus on email and Web browsing.

So it exudes a controlled electronic field in both a vertical and horizontal axis and therefore is capacitive. In order for the capacitive technology to function, it must be touched by something else that also exhibits electricity- like the human body. When a person’s finger touches a capacitive screen, it sends an electric current to then form a mathematical function which signals an action.

So it’s Not Really The End for the Stylus Pen?
Well, not exactly. Technology is fast for sure, but people can be relatively slow to catch up. Therefore, PDAs with stylus pens and grocery stores and malls with stylus pens on their tablets will likely be around for quite some time. After all, our fingers are designed to touch, but make a lousy tool for delicate drawings, writing more than a sentence or touching something teeny and delicate. 1) Based on requirements. The system integrator defines written requirements that must be fulfilled by the service provider. The FPGA design services provider writes all the necessary test environments and behavioral models, that are included in delivery. During the process of delivery, the system integrator checks that all the requirements has been met.

2) Based on testbench. The system integrator provides some requrements and a testbench (or behavioral model). The FPGA design services provider has to write synthesizable Verilog/VHDL code corresponding to this testbench. This model can be controlled more easily, but it requires that the task of writing a functional (behavioral) model is performed by the integrator, not by the FPGA design service provider.

3) Based on man-hours. The system integrator “rents” some engineer working time from the service provider and pays according to the number of man-hours used. This FPGA design services model implies the tightiest integration between customer’s project manager and service provider’s engineers.

The Facts About Laptop Batteries

A laptop battery is what makes your laptop run. Without it, you won’t be able to use your laptop unless it is plugged-in directly to a wall outlet. Think of the battery like the gasoline that fuels your car. These days, batteries are made of lithium ion and have an average power of around 4 hours. Unlike gasoline though, your laptop battery would degrade over the long run. Why does this happen? There are two facts that affect this; one is that notebook batteries today last for an average of 300 recharges, and second these batteries have a lifespan of 3 years. If you go over these limits then your battery would not operate at its peak performance. It would be time then to get a replacement battery.

To make the most out of your notebook battery, here are some tips on how to extend its life. What I did to extend the life of my Dell D620 battery and my IBM Thinkpad T60 battery used on both of my laptops is that I made sure to use them efficiently. First, since we are limited to an average of 300 charges, when you do a recharge make sure to do it when your battery is nearly empty so as to do a complete charge. If you charge your battery when it is still half full then you are wasting the extra power in it while cutting back on its lifetime. The same would go if you have a Latitude D620 battery, Inspiron 6000 battery, Dell 6000 battery, Dell 6400 battery or a KD476.

Next, try to minimize using your hardware. Examples of these are not to turn your LCD to its maximum brightness level and running only important programs when computing on battery. The more programs you open the more power your CPU would have to draw from the battery. Also, try to cut back on some unimportant hardware usage. If you aren’t using your WiFi try to turn it off. If you want to listen to music from a disk, then create a backup of the record and store in your hard drive. So the next time you play your music, it will be directly from the hard drive and not from a CD or DVR ROM which cuts battery lifespan real quick.

Even after trying to squeeze extra life on your notebook battery there will come a time when you really will have to replace it. If the original battery isn’t available anymore then a replacement battery is a good option.
